We are working to convert the former Korean Pilgrim Church at the corner Griffith Park Blvd and Lucille Ave into a 25-room boutique hotel and restaurant. Having a small, upscale, locally-owned hotel in the neighborhood will provide a much needed amenity for Silver Lake, which will conform to the nature of the community.
Due to a lack of viable uses, the property has fallen into a state of disrepair over the past few years. The new project will revitalize the property while utilizing many of the existing architectural features of the building in order to preserve their unique characteristics.
In order to provide compatibility with the surrounding area, the hotel will provide valet parking, on-site security, street trees, and nighttime lighting. Additionally, the project will generate business for surrounding commercial properties and add up to 75 good paying jobs to the neighborhood.
In order to obtain the required permits for a hotel with alcoholic beverage service, we are required to file an application with the Department of City Planning. These applications allow for public comments, which give the city a sense of what the needs of the neighborhood are.
Dana Hollister is the owner of Brite Spot, Villains Tavern, One Eyed Gypsy and Cliff’s Edge Restaurant on Sunset and is a long-time Silver Lake resident and homeowner. She is excited about bringing this project to her favorite part of the city.
